Goal II:Systems and Services
Students understand the systems and technologies that facilitate the management and use of information services to serve the diverse needs of users.
II.a. Students identify and analyze diverse information needs of individuals and communities.
Collections Development taught us that we first need to assess our community before we select appropriate materials. This community profile examines the needs of my local elementary school community.
II.b. Students evaluate and select print and digital information resources and systems to meet the needs of users.

The culmination of what learned from performing a community needs assessment, I created a collection development policy for our local elementary school, demonstrating knowledge of appropriate resource selection.
